BREANNA LAHOMA FAYTHE
Fifteen. Freshman. Straight. Sister. "I am an addict and I sell myself for drug money." Distant. Outgoing. Loud. Insecure. Smart. Painkiller addict. Mature (in terms of experience). Single. Chloe Moretz (short hair).
Breanna Lahoma Faythe is the only biological child of the Faythe family. She was a child who was always told she would become something great and pressured to succeed. Growing up her parents were so adamant she would become a doctor or lawyer, something with money and grandeur, that they unconciously made her own expectations too high. Even more so as Becca got older and her parents lost hope for the depressed weirdo. Eventually she decided she didn't want to be their perfect, straight-A, over-achiever. Though her form of escape came accidentally. Last year she fell off of a ladder helping with the church's christmas float and hurt her back, leading to the fourteen year old to be on painkillers. After that she quickly became addicted to the feeling of being free of worry. The doctors stopped her painkillers but she couldn't break the addiction. After using all her money she had saved from Christmas and her birthday she began seeking other ways to pay for her habit. Sex, sleeping with guys for money, became her primary source of income.
Becca and Bree have always been close, best friends even, though lately Bree has become more withdrawn and distant from the family. She is mature for her age in terms of experience, loud, smart, and outgoing. Though she is secretly insecure with herself and an addict.
DERRICK ANDREW FAYTHE
Fifty. Local. Straight. Father. "I only love one of my children." Smart. Charismatic. Outgoing. Lively. Sincere. Anger problems. Logical thinker. Joel Osteen.
Derrick is the pastor of the largest Methodist church in all of Seattle. He is a well-known TV personality, too. Though Derrick has two distinct 'faces'. One at church where he is charismatic, lively, and outgoing. And one at home where his anger issues and yelling leads to rifts in the family unit. He seems sincere and he is when it comes to his congregation. He's also a logical thinker.
Derrick is the only person who knows (though Becca has her suspicions) that he only loves one of his children, Breanna, and actually has grown to almost hate Becca. He refuses to believe there is anything mentally wrong with her and she is often the butt of his anger and yelling.
SARAH ANNE FAYTHE
Fourty-eight. Local. Straight. Mother. "I had an affair with a member of the congregation." Artistic. Writer. Bright. Motherly. Caring. Careful. Victoria Osteen.
Sarah comes off as the perfect pastor's wife. She is highly active in the church, a published Christian self-help author, and does all of the art for the church. She is a bright, inquisitive woman with a heart of gold and a mothering personality. She is helpful and careful and honest. But she is hiding a secret. Last spring she had an affair with a member of the congregation when she and Derrick were having problems. No one knows and she is scared what will happen if it comes out.
WILLIAM ANDREW FAYTHE
Nineteen. College. Gay (in the closet). Brother. "I had gay sex at Bible Camp but my family will disown me if they find out." Flirty. Bright. Caring. Helpful. Loving. Protective. Loyal. Smart. Artsy. Travis Fimmel.
Will is Becca's older brother via adoption. Will was adopted four years after Becca was when he was six. Will had always been a rather flamboyant, feminine child though no one payed it much mind. Will, himself, always knew he was different from other boys. Though it wasn't until he hit middle school that he realized just how different. He had an experience with a high school boy and realized he was attracted only to boys. Though he quickly dismissed it knowing his parents opinions on homosexuality.
Since Will wasn't capable of being that rough and tumble jock like his father had been in high school he and his father never really bonded. Instead Will and Becca became extremely close, rarely leaving one another's sides as kids. He's flirty and bright, caring and helpful. He is a very protective and loyal boy who is smart and makes sure he does all he can to help others. And he's also quite artsy and involved with the church's drama team.
