Over three years, that was a long time but so very worth it now looking back at everything that had happened in his life. Three years, just how long it took him to finally admit his feelings to his now boyfriend, Marshal. Sure of course they had their tough times, but every relationship had those. It started with the fact that he hid his love for Marshal, being afraid that the slightly older boy would reject him if he knew that he was so in love with him and he just couldn't let that happen. That would honestly be even worse than being jumped by the mostly amazing girl in the world, because he knew that Marshal was the only person he would ever want to be with, which was weird judging that he was a boy and Caedyn use to think that he always liked girls and up in till his feelings for Marshal came around it sure did seem like he did. He just never thought that he could be gay, because he never looked at other guys and he never liked other guys. It was only ever Marshal and those feelings confused him, so he turned to his drinking and doing drugs for a while to mask those feelings. It was hard, really hard which was why in the end he had to admit his feelings to his best friends and just hope for the best.
He almost rejected him, which would have been the worst feeling in the entire world to be rejected by your best friend who wouldn't have ever loved you back. That's what made him decide to even try and go back home, and it would have worked if Marshal didn't stop him in his tracks. That day he said that words he had been just dying to hear, and in the middle of an airport too. He could still remember what they both wore and everything about that day, but that very day changed his life for the better. Now he didn't want to know what life would be like without Marshal, the boy he loved so much and wanted to be with his whole life. Love was a weird thing, he knew first hand but he was honestly really glad how things turned out because he really couldn't be happier. Thinking about how he almost died even made him feel so stupid now; he was so upset that he almost took his like leaving Marshal alone. He knew he could never let that happen again, which was why he was glad they were actually sort of living together now. It meant that they could sleep in the same bed, every day and he liked that. He actually really liked being able to know that he was able to do that, and waking up to his phone ringing in the morning he was surprised to wake up and hear Marshal's little sister on the other end. "Cadey you gotta get up now, I need your help" the little girl's voice said on the other line as Caedyn quickly got dressed pulling his clothes on with one hand, which proved to actually be more difficult than it looked.
"I'll be over there soon" he hung up before heading right over there, see Caedyn treated Marshal's little sister like a little sister since he had no siblings so once he stepped inside the girl grabbed his hand and led him to the back yard where and note and rose were tied to a tree. Confused noting the note said his name he picked it off the tree with the rose reading it out loud to his self, "Hey love, I've decided to play a game with you and you'll see why soon. So get ready for a scavenger hunt, the first note after this one you'll find at your favorite place to get coffee" smiling to his self he laughed before heading off to the coffee shop. Of course the boy was helplessly confused as to why the notes were placed at all these places he and Marshal went, or even places that meant something to the two of them but he didn't mind it. The places included the high school, the music store in the mall, the lake, and many other places. It seemed to him that he was going to end up pretty much everywhere, judging by what each note said and with each note the places were all very familiar and even well known.
Each note explained why the place was special to them both; the music store for example read "This place is the place we go to of course guy stuff to play music. I think of you singing all the time when I think of music in general, you're voice is just amazing". Music really was in general just another one of Caedyn's love's and pocketing the note he headed to the last place the notes asked him to the, right back to the park where they first met. Counting the eleven roses he had in his hand he smiled again, this boy had really made him go around town but walking to the park he reread the note in his hand which was by far the longest one he had read so far. "Caedyn, you're almost there now love and I'm glad you stuck to our little game here. It's almost over now; just you wait for what I have in store for you, just need to come to the place where we first met. I know for a fact you know where that is, but please don't fall this time please. Don't want you getting hurt". Reading the note he laughed a little bit to his self remembering when he fell and sprained his ankle, sure it was all worth it though. If he never fell he might have never met Marshal, and him meeting Marshal was honestly probably the best thing to ever happen to him. Through them meeting he also met his other friends, and those five boys were probably the best of friends ever and that was just nothing he ever wanted to lose.
Getting to the park he looked around, he wasn't able to really find or see anyone and he still had Marshal's sister with him. She insisted that she went along, and refused to tell him what was going on. She claimed that it was a secret before grabbing his hand and pulling him along, but now here he was at the park almost afraid of what was going to happen. What in the world did Marshal have planned for him, he had no clue. Heck he didn't even know if he was even here, if he was he sure couldn’t seem to see hm. Looking around he sighed; he really just wanted to know what was going on. Maybe he didn’t want to know though, and that thought alone actually made him a little nervous. What if something bad was going to happen, okay yes maybe that was a little extreme but it was still possible. In fact, as he easily found out anything was what you could call possible, he was here and he was alive after trying to kill his self and he was dating the guy he was so very in love with. His life actually seemed pretty good, judging the few tough times that had to go through to get there. Life always had tough times though, that was why it was life and you met people along the way to help you in life and he met a lot of people. Sure some of those people brought him down and a lot had happened, like the death of his father and his mother just pretty much throwing him out of his life.
It was hard to live with and sometimes even hard to handle but he had to deal with everything that had happened with his best foot forward, life was full of a lot of things and he just had to stop being such a quitter. Quitters as he had learned early in live simply never win, it was common knowledge right and he had to just handle everything that life throws at him and of course he wasn’t alone either. He had a ton of people who did care about him, something he felt he no longer had anymore. He just felt that sometimes all his hope was lost, but he knew everyone felt like that. As he glanced around one last time he smiled, life was pretty good. He was stupid to almost throw it all away, just like that not even caring about the people he knew would miss him. It was almost even selfish and now he knew that he had to learn from his mistakes, no matter how matter how many you might make and how they might affect you, everyone makes mistakes. Those mistakes only made you a better person in the end though.
