Floorplan: o.aolcdn.com/hss/storage/fss/4202c62424731fcc187adda723e757aa/first-design.jpgMarie's outfit: www.polyvore.com/cgi/set?id=48471886Marie had been talking to Caedyn over the internet and decided that they must have a best-friend-night and have a sleepover in his room in their apartment. Marshal was out for the night with Sterling, something that pleased Marie a lot since Sterling didn't have the opportunity to have free time much. It was nice to let him have an opportunity to get away from the stress of her pregnancy and everything else they had to deal with. Moving into the apartment was.. fun. Marie had tried to help carry little things like pillows and picture frames, but Sterling would not let her touch anything or lift a finger. She felt useless, so she simply had picked a spot in the corner of the room and sat while she watched the three boys carry everything into the right rooms. Once more stuff was being brought in, she unpacked things like pans for the kitchen and made the beds. Once everything was brought inside, the "boys" of the two pairs left and were on their way while Cade and Marie prepped for an awesome night filled with movies and plenty of junk food. They snacked on entire containers of mint chocolate chip ice cream and chocolate fudge brownie ice cream while they watched movies like Iron Man and more romantic movies. They had a contest to see who could eat the most oreos in 30 seconds. Marie had been exhausted by 2am and had decided to lay down. She was out cold within five minutes of laying down, cuddling a pillow and pretending the pillow was Sterling.

Moving into the new apartment was actually a lot of fun, judging by the fact it meant that he and Marshal could finally be together and have most privacy. Something that at Marshal's mom's place he seemed to not have much of, it wasn't that he didn't like being there or anything either. In fact he loved Marshal's mom and his little sister it was just that since they were dating he did like to have some time alone with him to be able to do things that they clearly couldn't do with them around, sure they were still sharing the apartment with Marie and Sterling but it still meant the two boys were able to live together and that was just what he honestly did hope on.
Moving into the apartment consisted of moving everything in and then figuring out what went where, after they got that down the apartment seemed pretty homey and it was just time to relax. The beds were made, everything was all set up and there didn't seem like much else there left to do, so he and Marie were going to have a night out while Sterling and Marshal did whatever. "Alright love I'll be back later on" he heard Sterling's voice earlier before he left the apartment, he had no idea that tonight was the night that he actually planned on proposing. Sure he knew he was planning to, but Marshal didn't quite tell him much else on the matter, the boy was awful when it came to keeping secrets.
So after hours of watching movies and just being together he noticed that Marie was asleep and just drifted off into a slight sleep his self, it was hard not too after everything that took place. It was quite a productive night and closing his eyes he just sorta let his self drift off, it wasn't much to wake him up though. He was easily woken up sometimes.

Marshal had always been an early riser. He didn’t usually sleep past eight, so today that came into some sort of help since he needed to get up pretty early. He was planning on helping Sterling propose to Marie after a long time of the two dating and all the ups and downs their relationship had shared. Even though Marshal and Sterling weren’t exactly broskii’s yet, Marie and Marshal were super close. Besides, if they were going to live together it was probably best that everyone was close and comfortable with each other in the end. No need for awkward meetings in the middle of the night when they stumbled in the kitchen for a drink.
Since Sterling was having problems with his kidneys, Marshal hadn’t gone out of his way to force him to drink. Instead of going to a heavily populated bar or something, the two had just gone to a sports pub and talked for a while over diet cokes and anything nonalcoholic. It was out of kindness that Marshal hadn’t actually drank, since Sterling couldn’t. Marshal hadn’t been drinking much since he didn’t want to be a bad influence on Caedyn either, so he only drank a cold beer at the end of week now. Not to mention the fact that he couldn’t drink much anymore in fear that it would it would worsen his grade even more.
Now it was early in the morning and he was on his way back to the apartment. Marie and Caedyn spent the night there and had done girly things. Marshal had not the slightest idea what, but he didn’t mind not knowing. He wasn’t really interested in what they were doing, and he really didn’t mind that they were bonding either. He wanted the love of his life and one of his best friends to be close, it made him happy. He didn’t bother to knock, but instead just used his key to come in with his CD. He looked for Marie and pounced, turning on some lights in his way. ”HEY MARIE! WAKEY WAKEY! “ He shouted, pushing the CD into the player. ”I was on my way to Starbucks this morning and I found the most amazing movie, you gotta watch it with me, come one!”

Marie groaned as she heard Marshal trying to wake her up. She had been experiencing a wonderful dream where Sterling had showed up to wake her with a bouquet of blue and purple orchids, her favorite flower and their two favorite colors. He had showered her with kisses and after treating her like a princess, had asked her to marry him. Of course she said yes, but before he could respond, Marshal had woken her up. It had only been a dream. She could only open her eyes and glare at the boy when she realized it was only 8 am and she had been up till around 2 am with his boyfriend having fun. "You are seriously waking me up right now?" Her eyes hurt from the sudden change in light in the room and she could only stay in one position as she waited for her eyes to adjust. "I'm up so stop yelling.. gosh," she said with a groan as she sat up in bed and started rubbing her belly where she could feel the flutters of something inside. Marie could only wonder what this dvd would be about, since Marshal had said he found it on the way to Starbucks. Of course she barely believed anything that came out of his mouth, but she figured this morning would be a good time to trust him in his weirdness. She grabbed one of the pillows on the bed and stuck it over her stomach, leaning her head against the top of the pillow and waiting for the dvd to start playing. After a few seconds, she saw the dvd begin to play and wondered why Marshal had given her a dvd that started with a screen with the words "For my one true love" displayed in big letters.

Sterling had a way of just doing things, he tried to go with the sweet and romantic as much as possible which was probably the reason why he spent so much time in planning how he was going to propose to Marie. He just wanted everything to be perfect; something that would really just show how much he really loved her because he really did love her so much. Marie was his entire world and more, and that whole month without her felt so long as even days seemed like weeks and years. He really did miss her and now that he had her back he wanted to make sure that he had her forever and she could never dare leave him again, he wouldn’t allow it. There were only very few things he could stand ever losing forever and Marie was simply not one of those things, he knew if that ever happened he would never be able to stand it.
The idea for the video on the other hand came to him as a bit of a last minute thing, he had so many great ideas back in Boston but after coming here obviously they had to be changed a little bit. This was what he came up with, and he asked Marshal to help him with it and he was really glad that he was up to helping him, because he knew for a fact that he wouldn’t be able to do this alone and Caedyn as he learned was horrible at keeping secrets. So at about one in the morning one day he found his self with his lap top and his web cam making a DVD of his proposal, buying three packs of index cards just for the occasion. His plan was to go through the key points of their relationship, but not through any words. Only index cards and it took him hours to make adding in music and fixing up any mistakes he found, the entire video when finished only really about an hour.
As he sat there with Marshal he was honestly really just trying to calm his nerves, he was a little nervous but sipping his water and diet coke helped. With his kidneys being in the condition they were in and his diabetes it really wasn’t a good idea for him to have alcohol, better for him to be safe than sorry. Waking up Marie was up to Marshal to decide what to do, but after that he just had to have her watch the DVD. That was easy enough right, okay yeah he really just had to remain as calm as possible and really just sorta hope for the best. He wasn’t even sure what that even was, Marie say yes or she could say no. In his case he was really hoping she said yes and by this time he was sure that she was probably watching the video, at least you know she will be if everything was going as planned.
Video:
(Note this is all written on multiple index cards kay)
“Hey love” holding up that first index card Sterling smiled and waved, wearing jeans and a button down shirt his dog tag hanging from his neck like always. Running a hand through his hair took a deep breath ‘Time For me to Fly” already playing in the back ground, “Do you remember that song?” the next index card said as he turned it up. “I remember it really well; it was the very song that I was playing the day we met in Middle School. It was February 8th in the band room; I was wearing jeans and one of my baseball jerseys. I was number six back then and I was just playing to myself when you walked in, and boy did you startle me. You looked so shy though, your hair down wearing jeans and a blue shirt. We became best friends that day and you became the inspiration for a lot of my songs” he laughed then picking up another index card, his about eighth one now. “We’ve been through a lot together me and you; you know its funny how you and I changed from friends to where we are now. Freshmen year, you were 14 and me clearly I was 15 being a year older then you. It was the freshmen dance the school holds for us soon and we both didn’t have a date, I knew that a lot of guys wanted to ask you and me just being even a protective friend I knew that couldn’t happen. You know back then I didn’t even think I’d end up falling in love with you, but I did. As we stood in the band room and I played that song for you, just asking you to the dance and you seemed so happy. I was really glad that you were just happy, because that’s all that I ever want. You to be happy” he took at deep breath giving her a smile.
“The night of the dance, the minute I say you something in my mind just clicked and you just looked so wow. Okay it’s not the best word to describe it, but you really did look beautiful love. Blue dress, a really nice blue dress, with your hair down, slow dancing, I asked you to be my girlfriend right there, right then. I think I pretty much fell in love with you that night, which of course only made me write more” the song then changed to Lovebug. “I was bit by the Lovebug, hard and gosh did you change my life and for the better. You know what my mom’s always been saying about me being in the wrong crowd back then and after I met you I changed my life around, I know if I never met you I probably would be dead right now. With my diabetes acting up all the time and me being in the shape I am, I’m just sure my old friends would have made me acquire some pretty bad habits and that’s really something I don’t need” he frowned setting the index card down trying to recollect his thoughts. He had everything written down but he was still really nervous and even shaking, “so it’s senior year now and many songs later. You haven’t even heard them all yet, and don’t worry love you will someday. Even if I don’t sing them to you, I know you and you’ll find some way to hear them” he smiled a little. “Okay now I’m sorta rambling, it’s our graduation now. After prom, after everything and we’re no longer in high school” he bit his lip.
“I know you remember what happened that night Marie, because I can’t forget but it was a great night and I don’t regret anything that happened” he sighed the music now playing the song Stay. “Shortly after that night you left me, I thought that I must have done something wrong, even though Michael and my parents assured me that there was no way in the world that I could have” he looked down for a moment setting his hand on his necklace before continuing with his index cards. “I knew that I had to find you though, I needed to find out why you left. I needed to know what I did, and well clearly I found you and I’m so glad I did. God Marie, I know for a fact I can’t dare live without you” tears filled his eyes as he wiped them away. “Marie I love you so much, and knowing that you’re pregnant with my child is the most amazing feeling in the world. It’s just simply not enough for me anymore, I want more than that. I want you to be more than just my girlfriend, I want you to be my wife” he held up that last card for a minute before holding up a ring and saying these last words out loud. “So Marie Rose Massone, will you marry me” he stated those words simply. Caedyn who had shown his obvious dislike of being woken up early by throwing a pillow at his boyfriend just say there the entire time up in till the DVD was over. “Oh she better say yes” he said, he thought it was really sweet.

Marie couldn't help but smile when she saw that Sterling was the person on the dvd. She knew he was going to be flirting with her in some way because he only called her “love” in those situations. He honestly looked adorable in his typical jeans and button down shirt; she realized she had stolen the shirt he was wearing in the video before because she remembered how comfortable it was to wear. His dog tags were so familiar to her; he never took them off so when they cuddled and he was shirtless or on the few occasions when they decided to take the next step in their relationship, the cold of the metal became a familiar comfort. When he ran his fingers through his hair, she could tell he was nervous about something but honestly did not know what he seemed so focused on in the video. “Time For Me to Fly” was probably one of her favorite songs he ever wrote because it was her first encounter with his music and his personality so many years ago. That song defined the foundation of their friendship and was a very fond memory to reflect on in years following. Marie started to tear up a bit over how exact his memory was of the day they met; the fact that he could remember exactly what they both were wearing and the exact day of when they met was somewhat shocking to her. She could only nod along in agreement as he spoke of when they met and how they became close friends and eventually started dating. She had not been used to someone actually caring about her as much as Sterling had grown to care for her over the years of their friendship and relationship. His protectiveness during freshman year was so alien to her, not having her mother around and having an alcoholic father who never paid any attention to her except to hit her. Sterling made her so happy just by being her friend. When they took that next step to become boyfriend and girlfriend, her happiness grew at an exponential rate. Marie remembered the nervous butterflies that almost made her get sick in the bathroom before they met to go to the dance. (dance outfit: www.polyvore.com/untitled_55/set?id=48652877 ) She remembered the night that changed her life in almost complete clarity. Her father had been out at a bar that night, but she had still managed to enjoy dancing around to girly music while she got ready for the dance. Her hair was slightly curled and pulled back with a rhinestone headband she had purchased when Sterling's mom secretly took her out shopping for the dance while her father was busy and occupied. Marie had always planned to wear a blue dress to the freshman dance as a requirement; she knew Sterling's favorite color was blue and attempted to make her best attempt to look pretty enough to be able to stand next to him at the dance. Sterling's mom helped her pick out a beautiful light blue dress that had blue sparkles around the waist of the dress and was made of flowy, fun material. His mom allowed her to borrow a silver and black bracelet from the older woman's personal jewelry collection. The shoes were borrowed from Sterling's cousin Beth according to his mom, and the necklace was a present from Sterling on the one-year anniversary of their friendship. Even now, as a 19 year old mother-to-be, Marie still had the necklace and wore it on occasion to try to feel like that 14 year old kid once more. The freshman dance was the first well-defined memory she had of being treated like a daughter by Sterling's mom; the woman had been predicting since the pair met that they would end up married. The flowy dress was the perfect outfit to make her feel beautiful, especially with the way the boy who was her date made her feel; as they slow-danced, she could still remember the pure outburst of happiness when Sterling asked her to be his girlfriend in the middle of the dance floor during a slow song. This one night of her life was one of the major changing points that helped her become the woman she was today. His song “Lovebug” defined both of their feelings after that night. Sterling was not the only one bitten by the Lovebug; after that night, Sterling was the pure center of her thoughts and the majority of her free time. His talk about her saving him from his bad habits could also be used on her side of their story. Sterling's love saved her from the abyss that came with living with an alcoholic father who was consumed by his grief. Sterling was her escape and protector when things got too hard at home. His mother would let her stay over some nights when it was clear that it would be unsafe for her to stay home with her father if that night happened to be a hard one. He may have been so thankful that she had “saved him” from bad things in his life, but he always forgot that he saved her as well. When Sterling started shaking, Marie knew something was definitely up in his mind; if something was making him so nervous that he was shaking, she knew it had to be big and important. She could only laugh along with his comment about her eventually finding a way to hear all his songs; he knew her too well. Her stealth skills would be put to the test to try and hear him play and sing some of these unknown song. His challenge was definitely accepted and she could only smile as he continued to mention his songs. Was it bad that she desperately wanted him to stop talking about what happened after their last weeks of high school? The mistakes she made in that period ultimately lead to the pair living in Seattle instead of Boston. Perhaps the change in scenery was for the better. Under better circumstances for the move, maybe it was necessary for them to pull out of their common environment and figure out how to be a couple anywhere rather than small-town high school sweethearts that fell in love and started having babies. It was good to hear that he didn't regret what happened that night because she certainly did not regret the events of that night either. It helped them onto the path which brought them here to this moment, and her being pregnant with their child. Marie was seriously hurting when he admitted to the fact that he thought he did something wrong to make her leave him. The fact that his family tried to assure him that he wasn't the issue made her so thankful for his family even more than she was previously; without them, the pair probably would not be back together and who knows where they would be and what they would be doing. She was so glad he took a risk and went off to find her. She now understood how much they were meant to be together and never wanted to be away from him again. Marie couldn't help but cry when Sterling's eyes started to fill with tears on the tv screen. This entire video was so touching, especially since it must have taken a long time to make and showed how much the boy, or man now, cared about her. No matter how much she complained about the morning sickness or the added weight, Marie loved being pregnant especially since she was having a baby with the love of her life and the center of her existence. Her heart started to race when he said he wanted more than for her to just be the mother of his child. ”Is this really happening?” she thought to herself as she started to breathe a bit heavier from the excitement. The word 'wife' out of his lips sounded so right and so fitting when he spoke about her. He was all she ever wanted and would easily make her the happiest woman alive; she was sure of it. She could barely contain herself as he asked her to marry him. A million thoughts ran through her mind as she tried to make sense of everything that was happening. When the movie had started playing, she knew Marshal had walked out to the main room of their apartment. Putting two and two together, Marie could only assume that Sterling was waiting in the main room as well. She slowly got to her feet from the bed and ended up walking slowly to the doorway, looking out and finding the beautiful head of hear that belonged to her love sitting on the couch facing away from the doorway. Marie knew he was probably freaking out, thinking she could say no and leave him, which would never happen. She could not contain her excitement anymore and decided to run towards the back of the couch and tackle the man to the couch. Her body connected with his in the least painful way possible and she landed on top of his chest and pushed his body into the cushions of the couch. She didn't say anything in response but leaned up and started kissing him without any form of control, so overcome with happiness and joy that he had finally proposed to her and wanted them to belong to each other for life.

Sterling honestly had no idea why he was so nervous when he was making the video, the entire time his hands shook holding each index card as he held it up long enough to be read before he moved onto the next one. It was an endless cycle and took a lot of time and planning; planning his proposal was the hardest part in fact. It consisted with writing out each sentence, large enough to be read and rewriting it if he missed a word or misspelled something. It occurred to him that writing everything out was going to take longer than the video itself, not that it mattered to him after everything was finally complete. With the cards all finished and even numbered he was set and as he sat there pressing record on his web cam the video was rolling and all he had to do was go through their entire story, trying not to miss any details he found important. The main thing was their most important moments, and how he felt when she left and how his whole world just fell apart. Marie really meant the world to him, in every way possible and without her in his life he was nothing and his life had no meaning.
This video making it was probably when he was the most nervous, his hands shaky and even sweaty and waiting for Marie to finish watching it he was freaking out thinking that there was this chance she could say no to him and he couldn’t stand that. It made his heart pound out of his chest and sitting there he took a deep breath running his fingers through his hair, it would only be a short amount of time now before the video would be over and then she would walk out into the room, he just had to wait for her.
Playing with his fingers he blinked when she tackled him to the couch and kissed him, clearly giving him his answer. The answer he was so glad to figure out, after all his worrying and everything that happened between them this moment was just perfect.

Marie broke away from kissing him after about two minutes of nonstop kissing and rested her forehead against his, looking into his eyes. "You got that my answer is yes, right?" She wasn't sure how observant he would be at the moment considering he was obviously so nervous and she could feel his heart thumping in his chest underneath her body. She sat up and straddled his hips and pulled his upper body up gently and smiled at him. Since they were in the perfect position, she couldn't resist it and kissed him a little bit more, not noticing anyone else in the room.
"I will never get tired of kissing you," she said with a smile as she broke away from him again and played with his hair. "So now that we're engaged," she continued and whispered in his ear, "it feels so good to say that." She had been waiting for so long to finally take this next step with Sterling. After dating for over four years, she knew without a doubt that he was the one man for her. "I want to get married before Hope comes." It was important for her to be married before Hope was born, simply for the fact that she and Hope would have the Marvelli last name officially.
(I know it's short, but...)
