Marie loved that a new life was growing inside of her. She was very proud that she had the opportunity and that Sterling was back in her life. He was back to being his normal overprotective self, but was becoming increasingly worse as her stomach slowly began to grow and the realization of the fact that his daughter was inside her began to fully arrive for him. Marie knew he was so excited over the prospect of having a baby, and knew that the fact that this baby was supposed to be a girl was a selling factor for him to need to protect both of his girls from the entire world. But clothes shopping while pregnant sucked. Sterling barely let her do anything lately without having someone around to look after her; part of this was her fault since she had dragged Marshal and Caedyn into Sterling's scheme to never leave her alone, but it was annoying when she was only a little over a month along in her pregnancy. He acted like she was incapable of doing anything, so she decided to sneak out while he was off at one of his appointments and leave a note for him so he knew where she was. To prep for the arrival of her always-growing belly, Marie decided she needed a variety of outfits that would accommodate her belly so she wouldn't have to keep buying more clothes every few weeks. Even though it was much more comfortable to just steal Sterling's clothes instead, she needed her own clothes to wear. She had heard stories from her relatives that her mom had gotten huge during her pregnancy with Marie, so she wanted to take as many precautions as possible. Also, she had to go shoe shopping to get more flats since a large amount of her cute shoes were all heels. She was able to find a few dresses with a high enough waist that she could wear them for a few months, and pulled them off the rack into her arms. However, after a while of shopping in the store, she began to accumulate tons of clothing that was beginning to make her arm hurt. She huffed in frustration as she walked over towards the dressing room to try things on, but didn't watch where she was going and slammed into someone. "Oh my gosh, I'm so sorry... I wasn't watching where I was going..." she said as she bent down to pick up some of the clothes that had fallen from the pile she made in her arms while still attempting to balance the items that had managed to stay in place. I AM THE MAN OF CONSTANT SORROW I've seen t r o u b l e all my d a y s. In a matter of a week it seems the Buchanan boys had settled into life in Seattle quite nicely. Danny Jo had located himself a new lady-friend and Hunter had landed a job working as a mechanic in a small, family-owned place just outside of town. Thankfully they hadn't requested a background check or anything like that, since he wasn't keen on people figuring out who he was. He wasn't certain that he had any warrants against him, but he reckoned best be safe than sorry.
He was given the day off and decided he'd go out and enjoy the warm sunshine. Apparently it was a rare thing for a really sunny, warm day in Seattle. He showered and drank a strong, black coffee while he waited for his hair to dry. After he was done he threw on a pair of jeans and a tee shirt. He slipped on a pair of cowboy boots and a cowboy hat before sliding on a hemp bracelet and getting his billfold. He left the small, rickety house he and his brother shared, and he loaded up into his red 67' Mustang to leave.
He drove around for a while before he came to the mall. It seemed like a normal enough place to get away for a bit. After working hard all week, earning a paycheck that made up enough to cover their meager rent, and thought that it wouldn't hurt to splurge a bit on some more inconspicuous clothes. After all, loads of plaid shirts, jeans, and cowboy boots were kind of out of place in the town of Seattle. And the more he could blend in with the locals the better off he'd be in the long run.
He wandered around for a while, merely taking in all the sights and sounds of the unfamiliar mall. It was very nearly culture shock for the southern boy. He wasn't used to seeing so many types of people and definitely not the size of the crowds. Of course they had malls in the south. He lived all but twenty minutes away from the Clarksville mall. And fourty away from the big Nashville mall. But he rarely went to either. He did most of his shopping at places like Sportsman's Warehouse or Family Dollar.
He wandered absently into a large clothing store and busied himself checking price tags on the jeans. Most of them were rather affordable and he snagged a couple of pairs. Then there was the confusing challenge of trying to find a dressing room where he could try them on. He stood staring into the distance and tried to find the location of said dressing rooms. Suddenly, he felt someone bump into him.
A little brunette had dumped half her clothes into the floor and was trying to pick them up. Being raised to be a southern gentlemen, he tossed his two pairs of jeans over his shoulders and bent down to pick up the scattered dresses. He looked at her pile and gave her an easy-going smile. He held out an arm and tipped his hat at her.
"It's all right, ma'am. That's an awful big pile of clothes for a little thing like you," His thick, southern drawl was like molasses, "Reckon I could help carry those, if it's alright with you?"
