ANDTHISJUSTIN AND YOU’RE A DEAD FIT[/TT] ••••••••••••• As long as no one came to mess with her, Madelyn was okay in public places. If she didn't have to order her own stuff or talk to others, she was okay. The only thing that really scared her about public places was social interaction when she was alone, but if she had a friend or her mom it got better. People said Madelyn was to dependent on her own mother, but sum days it felt like that her mother was all that she had left.
There had been so much drama recently, it was sometimes overwhelming. Her mom was hardly home because she was an every busy ICU nurse thanks to a recent promotion, and Madelyn hardly saw her. There was also the stuff that had happened just by clicking on to a online chat room. Number one had been meeting Greyson, her recently found best friend. The only problem was that she found he had cancer...And he was a runaway. Madelyns heart had gone out to him ever since, and she had been working hard to figure out to help him, which didn't matter much because someone had adopted him.
Madelyn had come to the Starbucks today for two reasons, one being coffee and two being that she was unlikely to run into anyone she knew. Or at least that's what she thought. She ordered a Cappuccino and sat in a seat close to windows so she could look out into the street. Madelyn had also brought her notebook and a pen so she could get started on a few new ideas for stories. She had stayed up late last night, thinking of new stories. Though the notebook in front of her was empty, there was enough ideas in her head to fill it.
The idea she had liked most last night was creating a novel about herself, or at least who she wanted to be. The new Madelyn would be fierce, witty, pretty, and oh so cool around guys. None of that was going to actually happen in her real life, so she might as well dream it. "Dreaming is only the first step, Madelyn.." her mother had told her when she shared the idea, giving her some boost. She took a sip of her drink and picked up the pen to scratch someone in the notebook. "THE NEW MADELYN" were the words that stared back up at her, and she felt content. The weekend was slow - for once - and Ethan wasn't really sure what to do with his free time. He thought about going to a museum, or just staying at home and writing a few songs with his guitar. But, before his not-so-solid-plans, he was going to definitely have a cup of coffee. It was his favorite morning drinks, which was typical of many Americans in the modern era. Ethan could still remember a time when he hated coffee, and now, he simply loved it.
He pulled one of the double doors open and let the aroma of fresh made coffee fill his nose. It felt better inside than it did out, and Ethan happily let the cool air rush over his pale skin. He stepped to the counter, ordering a black coffee with four scoops of sugar. Once he paid the cashier and took his drink, he turned on his heel to find a place to sit, but was suddenly glued into the place as a familiar face caught his attention. Madelyn. The girl he'd met in class. The one who'd gotten switched into is science class. The poor girl whom he'd seen cry. The mere thought of it still twisted his gut into a knot. She was a beautiful girl, and really had to reason to cry. She was far too lovely for that.
She was writing something on a notebook, and for a moment, Ethan's smile vanished as he thought about approaching her. Finally, he decided he would. "Hey, Madelyn. Mind if I sit with you?" He asked, smiling, a hopeful look in his bright blue eyes. He liked Madelyn, to say the least. Not in a relationship way. He hardly knew her. But, she seemed like someone he could very easily get along with, and that was enough for him.

ANDTHISJUSTIN AND YOU’RE A DEAD FIT[/TT] ••••••••••••• Madelyn was off in her own little word, the world she would soon to begin writing about. She felt that this story would be amazing, it was her dream self, how could it not be? She was excited to begin writing, but she wanted to actually plan it all out. Like any good author would do she began to write down a list of characters. Who would she want to put in there though? She knew she wanted her mom in there, and Nakita too, and maybe a few of her bullies for the antagonist. Madelyns pen was flying everywhere over the page, she was working out other ideas. Every one needed a new name, she didn’t want anyone to read it and know it was about them. Of course not everyone was going to be the same, in her awesome life she wouldn’t be bullied, and she wouldn’t have only one friend.
The bell above the door kept ringing, but it didn’t faze Madelyn, nor the sound of many conversations. The only thing she was concerned about was the work in front of her that filled her with absolute joy. She didn’t write on the page that said The New Madelyn on it, but instead she had doodled on it to make the letters pop, and she had put some hearts around it. Then she put some color in it and she felt that it was bold enough, so she let it be. She had never been amazing at actually drawing, but she could draw words as weird as that was sometimes. She was halfway through her coffee, the sweetness of it giving her a rush. She had always loved sweet coffee, black coffee gave her a head ache and that was on days she could stand it.
Madelyn had noticed Ethan until he was talking, mostly thanks to the fact she was so interested in her work. When she did notice him though, her heart leaped to her throat. She was still slightly shaken up about the whole science thing, but she was trying to forget. She was still shocked about how gorgeous he was, and how he actually talked to her. Most of the gorgeous guys at her school just wanted to tease her, but he was actually nice to her. The smile she gave him was one that she gave all her friends. ”Of course you can.” She was a bit more comfortable around him, but she still felt her shoulders tense.

Ethan smiled as Madelyn answered and slid into the seat across from her, letting his eyes fall onto the paper. "What are you writing there?" He asked curiously taking a sip of his coffee and letting the warm liquid satisfy his insides. It felt nice to have someone to talk to over a cup of coffee for a change. Most people sat alone, typing away on their laptops, or playing on the cell phones. Ethan decided to check his. He had two messages, both from Nakita. He shrugged and shoved the blue phone back into his pocket.
"How often do you come here?" Ethan asked. At this point, he was glad that Madelyn had started to feel more comfortable with him around, even if she wasn't completely comfortable with his presence just yet. He was trying his best, and to his satisfaction, it was working quite well. He enjoyed being around Madelyn. She wasn't too talkative, but that didn't bother him in the least bit. He was more of a talker anyway, mostly due to the fact that he was so optimistic.
He smiled at Madelyn and watched as a waitress came over to make sure everything was okay. Ethan nodded before turning his attention back to the beautiful girl that sat across from him. HIs blue eyes were gentle on her petite frame, and he couldn't help but smile. "You're really pretty, you know?" Ethan blurted before he could stop himself. He quickly closed his mouth and mumbled an apology.

ANDTHISJUSTIN YOU’RE A DEAD FIT[/TT] BUT MY WIT WONT ALLOW IT[/TT] ••••••••••••• Madelyns tensing up was more of a natural thing, just another adaptive reflex. She didn’t really know how to relax around people anymore; sometimes it was easier outside of school though. There was a lot less pressure to be so perfect outside of school, as to why she allowed herself to wear shorts outside of school, and when she felt like it she even wore tank tops. Though today was different and she had worn a long sleeved shirt with stripes; stripes were slimming. When she went out she liked to look nice, because you never knew who you were going to meet in Seattle. Madelyn was just mostly afraid of meeting someone from school she knew would spread rumors about how ugly she was when she wasn’t trying to be anything.
”Come on Madelyn, just a normal coffee run-in..Nothing special...Besides the fact that the guy sitting across from you is absolutely gorgeous, you know. Don’t do anything stupid” Madelyn was thinking too much, her thoughts were going to become scattered at this point. ”Oh umm... Just a new story idea.” She nodded her head slightly and pushed some of her hair behind her ears, keeping it out of her face. Madelyn turned the page so he couldn’t see the doodles, afraid he would think poorly of her for writing a story about her own self. She didn’t quite know yet if she was comfortable enough around him to share the idea, because she hadn’t known him long enough to know his reaction to things like that.
There had never been a good enough reason for her to actually us bring her laptop here before, since Madelyn was so protective of it. The laptop was precious to her because not only was it the best money could buy, but it was her mothers way of saying she was responsible and that she could trust her. She only got on it every now and then, but she kept it running smoothly with updates and made sure it was pretty and virus free. Most of the time it sat on its desk and had a speaker hooked up to it so she could blast music when she felt like it. Which was when she was finding clothes for school, or cleaning her room, or just having an awesome or bad day.
How often did she come here? Madelyn looked up at him but then back down at her notebook. "Not often.. I d-don't like crowded places often, but I l-like coffee." She really wanted to slap herself for her stuttering, because it wasn't something the cool Madelyn would do. She nervously crossed her legs again, ashamed of her legs. Damn her for wearing shorts. Madelyn smiled a bit and was feeling okay, so she took a sip of her coffee. That's when Ethan made the last comment, and Madelyn almost chocked on it. She coughed for a few brief seconds, then blushes horribly. "T-thanks." She said, sort out of breath. Why did he have to say such things? Right now was a total nose bleed moment for her indeed.

Ethan could see her anxiety rise, just a little, and he decided not to question the story further, though he was curious. It actually seemed a bit typical that a girl like Madelyn would write a story. She seemed so shy and fragile, that it was pretty normal. Most girls that were shy did like to create their own worlds, where everything was alright. Ethan was sure that's what Madelyn was doing, but he didn't want to make her more uncomfortable.
When she answered his question, he smiled. "Me either. But, today seems pretty laid back." He said. He noticed that she hardly looked up, but when she did, there was a hint of a smile. He couldn't stop the grin that claimed his lips then, until she began choking at his comment of her. His eyes widened and he drew back a bit, resting his hands on the table ends to push himself against the seat's back. When she stammered a thank you, he smiled kindly. "You're welcome, Madelyn. I didn't mean to... Erm... surprise you - or make you feel uncomfortable. I didn't even expect myself to say it." He said, rubbing the back of his neck with his hand and looking down at the table shyly. It was often that Ethan had a shy moment, and when he did, he felt utterly stupid. He wasn't suppose to have shy moments.
Ethan had always surrounded himself with the idea that he was the outgoing kid who never got flustered. The kid who would yell retarded things in the middle of the hall, and receive laughs from his friends, passer-bys, and teachers alike, and not feel ashamed. But, something about the way Madelyn reacted made him feel bad. He didn't want her to think that he was hitting on her - though, he kind of was - and he really hadn't expected the words to come out. It just happened. When he looked up at Madelyn, his cheeks were still slightly flushed. "Sorry." He said sheepisly, smiling lightly.
