Jude's parents, Ekho and Daisy Stone, were hippies back in the 70's. And their parents before them had both been very much into the hippie movement of the 60's. Ekho is a new age store owner and Daisy is a stay-at-home mom. There are five Stone kids, Jude being the 'middle' child. In order of age there is; Lennon Forest (17), Rain Storme (16), Jude River (15), Kashmir Hendrix (13) and the baby Karma Grace (2). Jude had a relatively interesting childhood. This is where his story begins;
Sonny Jaybird Harrison was a tiny lad from birth. The third born of two hippies named Ekho and Daisy Harrison, it would seem he was destined to move to the beat of his own drummer even then. The older two siblings were both very excited to see their new baby brother and almost immediately a bond was forged between Stormy Skye, the next oldest child, and Sonny. Sonny was exposed to an alternative lifestyle from a very young age. His mother had done a natural, home-birth on the property of the Nicajack River Hippie Commune. Everyone who was involved with the Stone family was presence to love the child as soon as he left the womb. He was received with chanting, singing, drums and guitars. The celebration of life in the most loving and caring way possible. As soon as the cord was cut and he was still covered in blood he was blessed by a priestess and passed around the room where every person made the same vow; "I will love you Sonny Jaybird Harrison and I will help you reach great things." Sonny's loved ones maintained this bond throughout the six years he lived at the Nicajack Commune just off of the Nicajack river in Tennessee.
Sonny wasn't the quickest learner and was a bit delayed in walking and talking. But as soon as he was capable of both he hasn't stopped since. He grew up with zero influence of the outside world; raised in a commune that didn't believe in television, popular music or even new books. Everything he learned about life was learned through trial and error and nature was his playground. Even at two years old he was running through fields, helping with the commune garden, trying to play the drums with pots and pans, chasing butterflies and using the neighborhood dogs to pull his Radioflyer wagon. He learned that Mother Nature was a tempermental woman who needed a gentle touch and lots of love to surivive. He regularly found himself drifting off and napping in trees or playing naked in the river. There were also many other children on the commune which provided him a whole bunch of friendly faces and playmates. He was gifted with a little brother when he was just two years old; Floyd Nash.
When Sonny was five years old he went to his first Love-In. The amount of people was a little overwhelming, but he quickly adjusted to the crowd. He rode on his dad's shoulders and was amazed to see the powerful dancing and singing being held in protest of a new factory in the next town over. He found himself falling in love with the idea of people banding together for a common cause. He danced and sang until he nearly collapsed from exhaustion. The next year his parents were due to go to another protest and eagerly brought their children along. Some of his parent's friends decided to go, too. They camped in a nearby park while his parents left. Sonny, being the highly inquizitive boy he was, decided to follow them. As soon as Paisley had her attention focused on four year-old Floyd he snuck off of the campsite. He followed his parents to the protest and what he saw has scarred him for life.
Police were storming in on the protestors. As they banned together and formed a human chain the cops sprayed them with some yellow liquid and shoved and beat them. He watched in horror as his dad punched an officer in the face. A man he'd known to never be violent a day in his life. Apparently, the president was coming into town. And the hippies weren't pleased with his way of running the country and sending his glorified murders into arms to kill people for money. A huge, black limo was driving through as cops screamed at the hippies. Suddenly his father, mother and six other hippies broke through the police. They chased down the car and jerked open the door. His father's long arm shot into the limo and pulled the president out by the collar of his shirt. He couldn't make out what happened next as guns started shooting and he ran back to the campsite. That evening his parents came home, his dad nursing a gun shot wound to the shoulder, and held a family meeting. They told the kids that they were going to be moving to a new commune and would be taking new names. Each of the children were given a different name; John McCartney was given the name Lennon Forest, Stormy Skye became Rain Storme, Sonny Jaybird became Jude River, and little Floyd Nash became Kashmir Hendrix. Emmett's name became Ekho and Delilah became Daisy. They even took on a new last name, Stone.
Unbeknownst to the now-Stone kids, their parents were fleeing from the government. After a near-assault on the president they were forced to go on the run, which they have been doing all these years. They ended up at another commune, one of many over the next several years. At the age of thirteen the family moved to Tarwater Commune in a small town named Mabry, Ohio. This is where Jude got to witness the birth of his baby sister Karma Grace. Karma had the same bond with her older brother as he had shared with Rain. It was love at first site for the hippie. But this commune proved to be the most difficult one yet. See, this commune was much more modern. After years of listening to 60's and 70's protest songs on old vinyl or the songs of his elders at the communes he was exposed to radios and iPods and all types of music. TV was a norm for one hour a day for the kids. Usually it was cartoons which were much more violent than he'd ever experienced. The kids were more up to date though they all went to the same hippie commune school versus a public school.
Rain seemed to do the worst in her transition. Rain Storme had been given the perfect name since her mood always seemed dark and rebellious in comparision to the rest of the kids. Rain completely rebelled. She became violent and seething and rude. She began sneaking off and sleeping around, doing drugs and drinking. She'd come home sloppily drunk or not home for days at a time. She pierced up her face, got tattoos, dyed her hair black and chopped it off. He felt he was losing the big sister he'd loved his whole life. And though he still, to this day tries to help her he knows she may be gone for good. His brother Kashmir had turned to drama and singing for his newfound freedom. His older brother turned to music and baseball. Even little Karma began watching cartoons and being a little more in-the-know.
Only Jude completely upheld his hippie values. He refused to participate in TV, read only the books he knew were "acceptable" to the hippie lifestyle, didn't listen to anything except 60's and 70's protest songs and some of the new indie bands around. He lost himself in guitar and singing. He was still outgoing and funny and smart, but he kept his distance from the more rebellious hippie kids. He didn't even have much to do with girls his own age. This year everything changed completely, though. He was sent an invitation to attend Sven academy after they heard one of his songs that had been recorded by a friend. His sister, known around for her writing, was also invited. As was little Kashmir for his drama skills. The whole family up and moved yet again, this time landing at Rivercreek Commune just outside Seattle, Washington. As Jude starts his first time at anything other than a commune school he's worried how he will adapt.

Jude is a rather interesting person when you get a good look at him. He has shaggy, un-processed hair that is normally a medium brown in color, but it lightens in the summer. Jude has pretty, dark brown eyes that seem flecked with amber in the sun. His skin seems perpetually tanned from all his time spent outside as a kid. He has mediumish-thin lips that are always turned up in a grin. He is built pretty thin with a narrrow waist and little muscle. Even though he's only 15 he grew up on a hippie commune that housed several tattoo artists. In fact all but Kashmir (and Karma because she is two) have some sort of tattooing on them. Jude has two arm-band tattoos, alpha and omega on either arm, a peace sign on his foot, and 'stardust' on his left hand. He also has his ears with small plugs and two lip piercings.
Jude favors clothes that look like they came straight out of the 70's. And in a lot of cases they have! He loves to wear his dad's hand-me-downs which results in his wearing bellbottoms, flare-legged jeans, and vintage band tees. He also has an affinity for headbands and wears them often. He will layer lots of bracelets on him, especially ones purchased from various hippie crafters. Hemp jewelry is another big thing for him. Whenever he can get away with it he runs around barefoot but has two pairs of shoes; a pair of his dad's beat up, white Converse from the 70's and a pair of moccassins. People will learn he also loves to paint 'war paint' type stripes on his face and wear his favorite wolf-hat. He also believes in natural clothing, too.

...Well maybe it's the time of year
Or maybe just the time of man...
Or maybe just the time of man...
People find Jude to have a very likeable personality. He's friendly, outgoing, caring and kind. He's helpful and eager and determined. Though he is a bit socially awkward since he's not used to the dynamics of a 'real' school. Jude is very carefree and easy-going but has a hyper streak on occasion. He is very attentive and loves to learn new things. But Jude is also very innocent and freaks out if someone so much as swears infront of him. He avoids violence at all costs and will more than likely walk away from a situation than fight. He refuses to even call people names or make harsh/rude comments towards them. He definitely embodies that hippie personality well. Because of Jude's friendly personality and innocence he's had a rough time adjusting to Sven Academy. Before he was exposed to nice, friendly, easy-going people but everyone seems in a rush and people won't hesitate to tell you off. He feels he has adjusted well enough and plans to do his best to assimilate.
One thing people will learn about Jude is that he's a total music lover. He plays guitar, sings and plays harmonica. Sometimes all at once! He writes his own music as well as performing songs from 60's and 70's artists. He seems to favor bands like The Beatles and Jefferson Airplane, but also loves Hendrix and Cream. He also has a unique perspective on food. See, Jude is a vegan and has been most of his life. This doesn't stop him from eating chocolate or cookies once in a while but for the most part he avoids that stuff. You'll often see him bringing his own lunches since he refuses to eat what the school serves. He's a very 'green' individual who believes in growing your own food, getting milk (for those who drink it) from natural sources, using Mother Nature to help with illness instead of doctors. He also is passionate about recycling and being active. He loves animals, too!
Jude has some issues though. He is very distrusting of the government and authority-types due to how he was raised. He absolutely detests cops after he saw what happened to his parents. He also is very ill-prepared to deal with social situations. And he has a habit of being forgetful.

Jude definitely needs friends. He needs all the friends he can get, actually! He's naturally outgoing and super friendly so he would be a good ally to anyone. He loves to do fun things with people and enjoys the company of just about anyone.

I really don't see him having a ton of enemies. Though, he refuses to tolerate rude or mean people and will avoid them. So any people who would make fun of him or his friends are gonna be here. Also, he would probably have people who don't like him because of how he acts.

This is where things get really interesting. You see Jude has never had a girlfriend or even been kissed! He's totally naive and innocent to people around him and sexual things make him stutter and blush. He's not a prude by any means (he was raised by hippies!) but he hasn't been...experienced.
PLOT AWAY!
